9 states declare holiday on Ram Mandir event day

The Eknath Shinde government in Maharashtra has declared a holiday on January 22 to celebrate 'Shri Ramlala Pran-Pratishtha Diwas,' aligning with the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. In addition to Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Rajasthan have also announced holidays on this auspicious day.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh has directed the closure of educational institutions and liquor shops, emphasizing the significance of the Ram Temple 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony. Meanwhile, other states like Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Rajasthan have declared holidays with varying restrictions and observances, including dry days and closure of government offices and schools.
